Processing innovation: Long nose is next in line!

Okay, remember I told you about the long tail?
How this was changing consumer behavior, switching their focus from big universal hits to very personalized niches?

Now,Bill Buxton tells us about the long nose of innovation.

Mixing up concepts taken from the “tipping point” – I revised my opinion, I love it- and confronting them with the world of innovation, he explores the growth to maturity of a new technology.

Refining a technology is a long process from invention, through refinement, to creating traction.

Adding value can be made by shortening the cycle, bringing more great ideas into the market place.
Invention is not all, a lot of work has to be put together to transform it into an efficient innovation.
I guess creativity adds value at any part of the process anyway.

Sleep tight.
